I like to multitask but with the efficiency these chips are giving I'm not sure if I need the extra. It's really difficult because on one side people are saying you should be future-proof and on the other side people are saying if you don't need it now, there's no point futureproofing since by the time you need it you'll want a new Mac. and then just random applications like maybe a few Office apps, etc My university course could potentially tie in some kinds of AI (I presume not too advanced) Potential XCode development in the future Visual Studio Code (JavaScript/NodeJS development) I've heard M1 is a lot better at memory efficiency but it's difficult. I'd hate to cancel my order now but I'll force myself to if I feel I need to. I have 32GB on my main PC and never really use over 16, but I can end up using 16GB. I've already placed my order, I have a shipping date that's not too far off (mid-November) so it's just a constant rattle in my brain if I should've gone for 32GB or not. I've then heard people saying I should future-proof, go for 32GB, etc. I've ordered the 16GB M1 Pro 16" 1TB for being a computer science university student in my first year. I've sat here for the past 48 hours reading every single 16GB vs 32GB MacBook Pro thread under the sun and this question is still stressing my brain.
